About Me
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Alana relocated to Portland for college. She received her B.A. in English and M.A. in Education from Lewis and Clark College and Portland State University. Before coming to CMC, Alana taught a variety of subjects- American, British,and European literature, world mythology, creative writing, art & design fashion/costume design, performing arts, Shakespeare, and photography. She has many creative pursuits: playing music (the viola!), ballet, art, and travel are her passions.
Through her love of travel and world cultures, Alana began CMC Wanderlust Club, and has led student tours to Italy, Greece, and Japan. Wanderlust Club will journey to Berlin & Eastern Europe in 2022 and Peru in 2023. Alana and her husband Greg are animal lovers and share their Northeast Portland home with 3 cats and a semi-famous dog, Biscuit. Check him out on Instagram: @biscuitthecatrustler
