Clackamas Middle College (CMC) Community,
I want to thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate through the 2021-2022 school year. Please be alert to any updated information from the North Clackamas School District (NCSD) and CMC pertaining to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This updated communication is to let the CMC Community know that Friday, January 21st along with Friday, February 25th will be asynchronous learning days to help improve our educational delivery during this difficult time.
Due to the Omicron variant surge that has hit our community recently, we have approximately one-third of our students in our College Prep Program engaged in Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) or Distance Learning Protocol (DLP). As families in our community can’t come to school (in-person) due to safety issues, we have tried to simulcast (broadcast classes live) our daily lessons virtually during scheduled class time. This process is new to us, but we feel it is important as we look to provide access to classes/lessons for all our students. Therefore, we are using the time on Friday, January 21st along with Friday, February 25th to improve the process so that families can receive the best possible education during this difficult time. We will also be using this time to allow teachers the opportunity to reach out to students in need of support, and to give teachers time to plan effectively for simulcasting during the winter trimester. Because of this, Friday, January 21st along with Friday, February 25th will be asynchronous learning days. This means that students should access their class work on those days through their Google Classrooms. This also means that there won’t be classes streamed live through Google Meet on these days.
